I am pursuing my Bachelor of Arts in Linguistics from George Mason University. While in high school I tutored peers in French and was president of my school's Latin Club. I created course materials and games for Latin 1 - AP Latin 4. I am a member of several honors based societies and graduated from high school with the highest honors.I enjoy creating visual tools such as books to help students retain the new language information. This helps students more easily identify word genders and grammatical constructions which can be quite confusing for native English speakers who have a gender neutral vocabulary. While I am especially passionate about teaching others the beauty of French and Latin I also enjoy helping students enhance their writing. Essay writing and time writing responses can be quite stressful for students who lack confidence in their own writing skills and I enjoy giving them the tools and techniques to strengthen their skills and improve their personal confidence.In addition to tutoring language acquisition and writing skills I tutor a variety of other subjects including reading, phonics, literature, grammar and mechanics, study skills and organization, special education, philosophy, public speaking, and sociology.When I am not pursuing my own education or tutoring others I enjoy creative writing, drawing, reading, kayaking, swimming, and hiking.
