I graduated from James Madision University in 2013. I majored in Anthropology with a concentration in Archaeology and a minor in art history. I had a 3.43 grade point average and took many honors courses. I nearly double minored in Religion but I had a scheduling conflict. I also went on three archaeological digs in Belize affiliated with the director of archaeology in Belize and received an A each year.
Experience
My name is Michelle, I am 24, and I have a BA in Anthropology concentration Archaeology, with a minor in Art History, from JMU. I was teachers assistant for an archaeology course. I made several lesson plans, taught many classes and led discussions, held office hours where I helped tutor students slipping behind, and made study guides and held study sessions before tests. I found that I really enjoyed doing this but my school didn't offer very few other TA positions so instead I helped my peers by forming study sessions before tests to help those who were lost. This TA position also made me fully discover that I want to become a college Professor. I was also a supervisory returning student on one one month long and one two month long archaeological dig on Mayan sites in Belize. I was put in charge of several new students, kept a detailed log while digging, ran the artifact laboratory, and helped tutor the new students before tests/quizes and when they were confused or at a loss. In High School I volunteered my time to help tutor homeless children after school to give them a better shot at a successful academic career.

Hobbies
I love to travel and visit the ancient archaeological sites I have learned about. I have been to Mayan, Viking, Greek, Roman, Celtic, Minoan, Incan, Huari, and Native American sites and have found that seeing the site yourself and the landscape it is in creates a richer understanding of the culture. I also love spending time in the outdoors (hiking, canoeing, skiing, etc). I especially enjoy going with my father the environmental engineer because he will share his knowledge of the natural world in nature. This has led me to want to gain a deeper knowledge of our universe and I watch many science videos on youtube. There are some really good scientists who are great at explaining the amazing facts of science. My favorite channel is vsauce.
